Sony의 컨버전스 Blueray 플레이어 MovieIQ

Sony는 이제 가전사라기 보다는 종합 Entertainment 회사로 불리워야 할것 같습니다.

인터넷 상에서 구할수 있는 2007년 Sony 매출 구조를 보면, 다음과 같습니다.

아직까진 가전사인 Sony Corporation에서 올리는 매출이 높기는 하지만 Music 그룹과 Pictures그룹에서 올리는 매출 또한 어마 어마 하군요.

일찍이 Digital Contents에 대한 관심을 가졌던 소니가 이번에 MovieIQ라는 블루레이 플레이어를 9월경에 출시한다고 하는군요.

영화를 보면서 오른쪽 팝업으로 영화에 대한 메타 정보를 제공합니다.

배우, 감독, 제작자등에 대한 정보를 인터넷을 통하여 검색해 볼 수 있습니다.

Sony가 인수한 Gracenote라는 회사의 Trademark인 CDDB를 통하여 이를 구현하고 있는데요.

CDDB란 Unique한 Disk ID를 인터넷을 통하여 Disk Database에서 검색하여 관련 정보를 전송해주는 기술입니다.

이런 기능을 위하여 Gracenote라는 회사를 인수를 했겠죠.

이 기술은 Blueray플레이어 뿐만아니라 , 거의 모든 Compact Disk에서 유용하게 쓰일수 있을것 같습니다.

앞으로 인터넷에 접속이 되지 않는 Digital Device는 없을 테니까요.


그나저나 BlueRay 플레이어의 가격이 언제나 떨어지려나요.
